The purpose of this app
Avada Pixel & Conversion Tracking is a Shopify app built for store owners who run paid ads. Its purpose is simple: make the conversion numbers your ad platforms report match what actually happened in your store.
Browser-side pixels lose 20–40% of conversions to ad blockers, iOS tracking restrictions and Shopify's new checkout. The app closes that gap by also sending each event from our server directly to Meta's Conversions API and Google Analytics 4's Measurement Protocol, sharing one event ID between the two paths so nothing is counted twice. It then compares the purchases it tracked against your real Shopify orders and shows you the difference.
What Avada Pixel & Conversion Tracking does
- Captures storefront and checkout events — page views, product views, add to cart, checkout started, purchase.
- Sends each event to your Meta pixel and your Google Analytics 4 property from the browser and from our server.
- Deduplicates the two paths with a shared event ID, so Meta and GA4 each count one conversion, not two.
- Reconciles tracked purchases against your real Shopify orders so you can see exactly how accurate your tracking is.
- Gives you a live diagnostic feed and an isolated test mode to verify tracking works before trusting the numbers.
- Watches your connections daily and emails you if tracking breaks — an expired token, a pixel that stopped firing.
Server-side tracking
Events go to Meta CAPI and the GA4 Measurement Protocol from our server, so ad blockers and browser restrictions cannot drop them.
No double counting
The browser hit and the server hit share one event ID, so each conversion is counted exactly once on each platform.
Verifiable accuracy
Tracked purchases are reconciled against real Shopify orders, so the accuracy figure is something you can check, not a claim.
Why the app connects to your Google account
To send conversions to the right place, the app needs to know which Google Analytics 4 property and web data stream belong to you. Rather than asking you to hunt for a Measurement ID by hand, the app asks you to sign in with Google using standard Google OAuth 2.0 and read the list of GA4 properties and data streams your Google account can access, so you can pick one from a menu.
The Google permission the app requests is read-only. The app never changes your Google Analytics configuration, and it never reads your Analytics reports or audience data. It does not use your Google data for advertising and never sells or shares it. You can disconnect at any time from inside the app.
- In the app's Connections page, you click Connect Google and sign in with Google.
- Google shows you the read-only access being requested and you approve it.
- The app lists your GA4 properties and their web data streams, and you pick the one to track into.
- The app sends your store's conversion events to that GA4 Measurement ID and shows the results in the app.
The Google permissions the app requests
- See and download your Google Analytics data (the
.../auth/analytics.readonlyscope): to list the Google Analytics 4 properties and web data streams your account can access, so you can select which one to send conversion events to. Read-only — the app cannot modify anything in Google Analytics. - Your basic Google profile (
openid, email, profile— name, email address, profile picture): to show which Google account is connected in the app.
